@AGLAustralia Sure. But it's ****ing in the wind when you still run Australia's dirtiest climate destroying energy company and don't intend shutting the last coal power station down until 2045. We'll all be ****ed by then.

@AGLAustralia Those windmills don’t last forever. What strategy have you got in place to recycle the material when they start breaking down in 20 years time?

Over the last five years, @AGLAustralia has mirrored the chronic underperformance problems that dogged @exxonmobil as well, with its shares down nearly 70 per cent over that period. Investor anger could be ready to spark on June 15 #ASX https://t.co/ihQAYLK99j

@rayman773 @AGLAustralia Wind, pumped hydro etc. works just fine when the sun is down and they pair well day/night and seasonally as solar produces more in summer and wind produces more in winter.

@AGLAustralia It's great to see AGL investing in wind and solar. Now fast-track the transfer to renewables & shut down the coal-fired power stations. 5700 yearly deaths occur in Australia due to the burning of fossil fuels https://t.co/AQySr8aUyf https://t.co/vYMxL8PbE3

@BobGorovoi @MattHenley14 @AGLAustralia Main issue today is trying to get rid of an incompetent, corrupt, neoliberal government, devoted to environmental destruction, taxpayer subsidy of the rich, and kicking the poor.

@AGLAustralia And yet is still Australia's single largest climate problem, generating over 80% from coal.
Great that you've invested. Do more.

@MattHenley14 @jonathanpmarsh1 @AGLAustralia You still haven’t proved that a little extra CO2 in the atmosphere is an existential threat. ..
And that’s where the whole charade will come tumbling down.
If the climate has low sensitivity to CO2 increase then the imperative to move quickly from f/fuels goes away.

Bob Gorovoi (fiery but mostly peaceful) @BobGorovoi
Reported 2022-05-19 23:28:05
@MattHenley14 @jonathanpmarsh1 @AGLAustralia If it was up to people like you we’d still be sitting in caves and living as hunter gatherers.
Without the discovery of fossil fuels there wouldn’t be any forests left in Europe. Burning coal for heating, cooking and light saved us from cutting down and burning trees.

Matt Henley @MattHenley14
Reported 2022-05-19 22:47:02
@BobGorovoi @jonathanpmarsh1 @AGLAustralia Yes it is, if they could just get the price down to make it competitive with other options it would be a very viable option as a small scale backup to RE.

Bob Gorovoi (fiery but mostly peaceful) @BobGorovoi

@jonathanpmarsh1 @MattHenley14 @AGLAustralia And deforestation is a problem not linked to CO2 emissions..

@BobGorovoi @jonathanpmarsh1 @AGLAustralia As for not using *****ed cobalt it's mainly done by using block chain tech & sourcing from proper suppliers.
Given that fossil fuel companies have literally paid mercenaries to murder people, you better get down off your high horse there kiddo.

jonathanpmarshall @jonathanpmarsh1
Reported 2022-05-19 21:40:17
@BobGorovoi @MattHenley14 @AGLAustralia Its a problem but people seem to be building solutions, like working recycling plants. But there are no working solutions to the destruction produced by coal and gas mining, or to fossil fuel burning - please don't wave at CCS.
Another reason they should be dead technologies.

Matt Henley @MattHenley14
Reported 2022-05-19 21:26:46
@BobGorovoi @jonathanpmarsh1 @AGLAustralia Except we haven't, AEMO knows a **** tonne more about this than you do champ & they say there is no issue.

@BobGorovoi @jonathanpmarsh1 @AGLAustralia "Uses child slavery"?
I'm ***uming you refer to the cobalt issue, the same cobalt is used in refining petrol for your car, electronics & phone?? That cobalt?
Cobalt used in EVs like Tesla doesn't come from those artisian mines & many batteries don't have cobalt in them at all.

@BobGorovoi @MattHenley14 @AGLAustralia Its not cheap to have your house flooded. Its not cheap to have your house burnt down. Its not cheap to have your farm destroyed or your water polluted.
Maybe you are too rich to bother about this... I don't know.
And new fossil fuel energy seems to require taxpayer money

Matt Henley @MattHenley14
Reported 2022-05-19 08:16:08
@BobGorovoi @jonathanpmarsh1 @AGLAustralia Victoria doesn't have the HELE plants you're promoting. They run brown coal, the most pollutive **** possible, all their plants are all paid off & to keep it down they import lots of excess power from Tas & SA renewables.
There is a reason all their new investment is in RE.

jonathanpmarshall @jonathanpmarsh1
Reported 2022-05-19 07:05:27
@BobGorovoi @MattHenley14 @AGLAustralia again if you use coal power it often breaks down in the heat. Indeed that has caused major system crashes in Australia and it makes the world hotter.
I'd definitely prefer the system with minimum destruction, as I'd like to stay functional. Batteries and storage.

@AGLAustralia This is ridiculous. 85% of AGL’s power comes from coal. Shares will keep going down as long as AGL is primarily coal driven. You’re not fooling us with these facts. Crunch the numbers, look at the statistics. Do the right thing for our environment and stop the demerger

@BobGorovoi @AGLAustralia @jonathanpmarsh1 Then that's an issue you should take up with governments, but given how much governments like Aus have ignored science & instead dumped billions into coal & gas projects I'd say they also don't listen to the science.
After all, ignorant ppl won't vote for science, only opinions

Yes, China is **** for emissions, but when you consider they have 68% coal power vs Qld with it's 85%, only a moron would try to look down on them for emissions.
