We’ve done everything we can to fix the google group problem. We've attempted to contact @google in many ways daily but have had zero replies from anyone ***ociated with Google groups. So we looked for alternatives.

.@gmail why are you now labeling emails from Google Groups as Spam? I've had to create a filter to make sure they come to my primary inbox. I keep reporting them as not spam but the problem persists.

@RMCunliffe I see, well thanks for not taking the comment the wrong way. In the old Usenet/ Google Groups, there is still - after nearly 20 years - an apparently automated message daily from a man abused by the Met. It 'looks weird' but of course this man's neurology broke down under abuse.

@aaronharris @PaulSkallas DejaNews did a great service to the historical record in trying to reconstruct Usenet's entire history, even tracking down and recovering data from ancient backup tapes. Now, as part of Google Groups, it's all forgotten and probably unusable again.

@justAfanDavid The from address is just a text field in the email and SMTP protocol. There are some tools used by big email services to validate the sender, but backward compatibility is a problem. And even between big G products @gmail throws tons of Google Groups mails into the spam folder.🤷‍♂️

I really don't know what Google Spaces does. Previously it was google hangout / google chat / google groups... don't know what. Big time issue with the positioning. Now, I learnt its an alternative to slack.

I tried the shift to Google groups during the period of time you could use it for some Usenet groups and then that was shut down too.

@blnbbpigalt With all of the content moderation people gone, Twitter will likely shut down adult content due to the risk of legal sanctions for hosting illegal content. An email list like Google Groups is a good way to reach followers until a replacement emerges.
