@rosequartzish yeah i thought mabinogi shut down for good, a few years ago i had to go thru Lengths to get into the servers but now it looks like its back?? ill have to retry

RPGs aren't supposed to be a challenge at every stage of character progression. It's supposed to be possible to grind to become overpowered. That's part of the genre.

I've actually played Mabinogi, so you're gonna have to make a really good argument for why a skill system based around player freedom in a lifesim MMORPG is bad game design.

@Fayevi_ Having played Mabinogi prior to FFXIV, there's not much I was needing to know before I made the jump. A lot of the lingo is interchangeable until you boil down to the actual combat system, but then it's just a lack of FF terminology, which is easy to catch up with.

@Jachra @LtTrucker @batouposting That doesn't sound right. Like, the Tuatha de Dannan are pre-Christian, which is far older than 1500. The Mabinogion down in Wales is similar, written in the 1200s from older oral tradition, like Homer.
